The logo is an Arctic Tern holding a rose and a Portland scarf. The Arctic Tern is considered one of the most traveled animals on the planet. They migrate pole to pole making stops throughout North and South America and for those migrating through Europe, making stops in Africa. The Tern represents that willingness to travel rather it be for vacation or adventure. The rose represents family and community. The rose was my grandmother’s favorite flower. Even in her elder years, she took time if she was able to manage and maintain the upkeep for the flowers. The rose for the logo is the symbolization of love, passion, and admiration. This shows the passion for the family, community and outdoors as well as the admiration for other cultures. The scarf represents the colors and flag of the city of Portland.
